DISTRICT BENCH APPOINTMENTS

District Judge Crowe, formerly a Deputy District Judge on the Northern (North West) Circuit was sworn in on 2 March 2009 to sit in the County Courts at Stafford, Tamworth and Walsall.

District Judge Paul Watson, formerly a Deputy District Judge on the Northern Eastern Circuit was sworn in on 16 April 2009 to sit in the County Courts at Wolverhampton and Walsall.

District Judge Guy Baddeley, formerly a Deputy District Judge on the Northern Eastern Circuit was sworn in on 20 April 2009 to sit at Birmingham Civil Justice Centre.

CIRCUIT BENCH APPOINTMENTS

His Honour Judge Pearce-Higgins QC was appointed as the new Designated Civil Judge for Worcester with effect from 1 March.

His Honour Judge Oliver-Jones QC, Designated Civil Judge for Coventry & Walsall, stepped down from this post on 27 February after two terms in office and has been succeeded by His Honour Judge Gregory with effect from 1 March.

His Honour Judge Henderson (formerly a Recorder for the Midland Circuit) was sworn in on 22 April 2009 to sit in the Crown Court at Birmingham and also in the County Court at Dudley.

His Honour Judge Rundell was re-appointed as the Designated Family Judge for Worcester for a further term of four years from 1 April 2009.

His Honour Judge Onions was re-appointed as the Resident Judge for Shrewsbury for a further term of four years from 30 April 2009.  He was also re-appointed as the Magistrates' Liaison Judge for Shropshire for a further term.

District Judge Mark Rogers, who is also a Recorder on the Midland Circuit, will be sworn in as a Circuit Judge on 22 May 2009 to sit at Birmingham Civil Justice Centre and also in the Crown Court at Leicester.

His Honour Judge Donald Hamilton, former Designated Family Judge at Birmingham, will transfer to the South Eastern Circuit from 1 June 2009 to sit at Reading County Court.

Sylvia de Bertodano will be sworn in as a Circuit Judge on 3 June 2009 to sit in the Crown Court at Leicester.

Michael Fowler, currently a Recorder on the Midland Circuit, will be sworn in as a Circuit Judge on 3 June 2009 to sit in the Crown Court at Northampton, Derby and Leicester.
