• Saturday March 19th - Manchester Schools (2 judges needed)
• Tuesday March 22nd - Birmingham Schools (4 judges needed)
• Tuesday March 29th - Newcastle Schools (3 judges needed)
• Wednesday March 30th - Birmingham Schools (6 judges needed)
The heat would take place on Zoom and would be facilitated by the team at Young Citizens. The schools have prepared 2 cases and will perform both prosecution and defence. The scoring this year has been simplified to ensure that virtual judging can go as smoothly as possible. Once volunteers have signed up, we will provide comprehensive guidance as to the role and how the heat will work on the day.
The Bar Tribunals & Adjudication Service (BTAS) is responsible for organising and administering Disciplinary Tribunals and other hearings to consider the most serious allegations of professional misconduct against practising and aspiring barristers.
Bar Course Tutor (Advocacy and Conference)
The ICCA seeks a Bar Course Tutor (Advocacy and Conference) to teach and assess criminal advocacy and conference skills.
You will form part of a team of exceptional Tutors and Visiting Lecturers in delivering the ICCA Bar Course. You will have responsibility for course and assessment design. You will also teach students in our bespoke teaching facilities in one of the four Inns of Court.
This opportunity offers a challenging and exciting opportunity to deliver an outstanding course to excellent students.
Previous teaching experience is not necessary. You must have an enthusiasm for the skills of courtroom advocacy and a desire to teach excellent students.
Open to: Members with an affiliation to the Midland Circuit. Members may bring guests.
