Ben’s practice is in criminal and regulatory law. He has expertise in complex cases: particularly white collar & corporate crime; organised crime; serious sexual offences; and homicide. He undertakes private client defence work for individuals and companies in a range of matters and his clerks are able to agree structured fees on a tailored basis.

Crime: recent work includes a multi-million pound broadcasting fraud as leading junior; a gang-related double-shooting; a drive-by shooting with an automatic weapon; ongoing litigation regarding a complex real estate fraud. He is ranked as a Level 4 CPS prosecutor, the highest grade, and is on the specialist CPS lists for Serious Crime; Rape; and Confiscation.

Regulatory: current and recent work includes a high-profile Health & Safety theme park fatality; a major Environmental prosecution concerning the largest covered recycling plant in Europe. He is on the Attorney General’s List of Specialist Regulatory Advocates in Health and Safety and Environmental Law (Band B).

He is an approved pupil supervisor.

He is the Vice-Chair of Governors at a Primary School.
