Philip has a diverse and UK-wide practice focused on complex regulatory and criminal matters. He has an array of experience in Inquests and Crown Court conducting trials and providing mitigation on behalf of his clients. Instructed on behalf of the prosecution and for the defence, he is regularly instructed in cases ranging from violent assaults and murder through to health care, safety and environmental breaches.
Philip undertakes private Magistrates’ work in relation to motoring offences, domestic incidents, and public law matters, and has regularly cross-examined Police Officers in relation to their conduct during investigations.
Philip is a Grade 4 Prosecutor and is regularly instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service. He is often approached to provide assistance to senior members of the Bar in complex cases including serious large scale drug conspiracies, sexual offences, historical abuse, and complex financial proceedings. Philip shows a strong resilience and determination as a junior, and is highly regarded for his hard work and rigorous analysis of the case and the support he provides to leading counsel.
