Current project work

I have been undertaking various pieces of work for the Circuit over the past four months, which include: -  

• Examination of parts of the Circuit’s Archive which was formerly stored at the Bodleian until it was brought to Birmingham, and, the redrafting of the inventory of the Archive material which dates back to 1773;
• Tracing details about past Circuit Officers for both the Oxford Circuit and Midland Circuit back to 1965;
• Work on the creation of the Midland & Oxford Circuit in 1972;
• Work on the renaming of the Midland & Oxford Circuit into the new Midland Circuit in 2001;
• Projects on the Great Train Robbery in 1963, the Carl Bridgewater Murder trial in 1979, the opening of the Queen Elizabeth II Courts in Birmingham coupled with Kings Cross Fire on 18 November 1987 and Desmond Fennell, then leader who subsequently chaired the inquiry into the Fire;
• Profiles on Supreme Court Judges from the Circuit;
• The circuiteers who joined the Circuit as members of the Oxford Circuit, the old Midland Circuit, those who joined as members of the Midland & Oxford Circuit and most recently those elected as members of the new Midland Circuit;
• Profiles of notable circuiteers like Charles Gale who developed the law on Easements and Robert Goff (Lord Goff) who initiated and developed the concept of Unjust Enrichment in English law;
• Legal Training on Circuit over the past 25 years;
• Judicial appointments from the Circuit over the last 40 years.
