Membership of the Midland Circuit offers a range of benefits. The Midland Circuit includes some of the country’s finest advocates from all areas of law. As a member, you will be joining their ranks and benefiting from an invaluable support network. The Circuit offers members high quality representation and a variety of enriching educational and social opportunities

In the words of the Circuit Leader Michelle Heeley KC, “the Midland Circuit exists to support the interests of all its members”. Members have access to high quality training at negligible cost. They will receive expert representation, for example, in regards to government issues affecting barristers. And they are encouraged to partake in a varied programme of social events.

You can manage your membership on our website, including your personal profile and bio, where other members can find out who you are and what you do. You can see all upcoming events and receive news that is relevant to you. You have access to details about members through the member directory. And you can view and download a range of useful documents.

Event Calendar

Keep up-to-date with all the upcoming Midland Circuit events. When required you can also pre-book event places or show your interest in attending. We provide all the information you need to gain the most out of our funded events.

Online Training

Our members can get access to a library of online training sessions, ranging from pre-recorded videos to live-interactive zoom calls. Our Education & Training team ensure that our training sessions meet the highest standards and span a wide range of legal topics.

Join the Circuit

If you wish to join the Circuit, please contact the Circuit Administrator for the necessary application forms.

Prospective members will require a proposer and seconder from two active members of the Midland Circuit.

Subscription are currently as follows:

 Door tenants, MPs, maternity leave and retired members

Subscriptions are collected on 2nd January of each year

Your first payment will be due on the first January after your election to the Circuit. You can either pay this subscription yourself by setting up a standing order or you can nominate your chambers to pay on your behalf. 


Once your application has been processed your name will be published in the Circuit Newsletter following which your application will be considered by the Circuit Committee. In the unlikely event of your application being unsuccessful, we will contact you.

To become a member of Midland Circuit, you will need to complete our full application process.

Initial application

Firstly, you will need to complete all the steps of the online application process. You will need to provide your own details and those of a proposer and seconder - two active members of the Circuit.

Application acceptance

Once the Membership Team has accepted your application, the proposer and seconder will be contacted to confirm their support./p>

Committee approval

Your application will be presented at the next Circuit Committee meeting. You will then receive a final decision.

Membership setup

Once your application has been approved, you will be contacted by a Circuit Officer to set up a standing order.

Membership activation

You will receive an email to confirm that your membership has been activated and inviting you to set up a secure login for the Midland Circuit website. You will then be able to set up your account and access all the membership benefits.
